Spring Tasks
- Walk your property with you to create short- and long-term plans for enhancement.
- Examine driveways, walkways, patios, masonry walls, pools, and decks for winter damage.
- Open your pool, fountains, and cabanas, and schedule any necessary repairs and upgrades.
- Agree on a level of organic care.
- Evaluate and set irrigation system.
- Design and prepare perennial, annual, and rose beds, as well as vegetable gardens and containers.
- Clean up, prune, and remediate damaged branches, turf, and edging; mulch beds.
- Add or adjust night lighting elements for seasonal growth.
- Resume disease and pest control.
Summer Tasks
- Undertake landscape projects designed in the spring.
- Rotate seasonal color in pots and beds.
- Attend to weekly bed detailing, including weeding, pruning, and plant health.
- Prevent algae from blooming in the swimming pool due to high use and extreme weather.
- Deadhead and stake perennials.
- Prevent noxious weeds, disease, and insect infestations.
- Adjust irrigation system for seasonal growth and optimum hydration.
- Examine all segments of the property for overgrowth and refurbishment.
- Continue weekly bed detail, mowing, and pool care.
Autumn Tasks
- Plant fall annuals in containers and beds; plant spring-flowering bulbs.
- Cut back and prune plants, grasses, and perennials.
- Mulch beds and remove debris; divide and crop back perennials.
- Prepare lawn for next spring; aerate, fertilize, balance pH, overseed, and compost organically.
- Protect broadleaf evergreens from deer with mesh and burlap.
- Winterize pool, fountains, irrigation system, kitchen, and cabanas.
- Store or wrap kitchen, patio, and pool furniture.
- Inspect trees for bracing, wiring, or limb removal; deep-feed trees and shrubs.
Winter Tasks
- Photograph and stake driveway in advance of plowing.
- Design, install, and then store outdoor holiday decor and lighting.
- Adjust nigh lighting to dramatize winter landscape.
- Prune woody ornamentals, specimen trees, and fruit trees for structure and health.
- Maintain proper ice and water levels in pools to protect tile and masonry.
- Keep property clear of debris, fallen limbs, branches, and leaves accumulated in winter.
- Work with your Property Care Manager and a Glengate Landscape Designer to prepare plans for next season.
